(NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown High is on the verge of a second straight trip to the postseason, but they had a chance to put themselves in position to avoid Fargo South in the opening round. That opportunity slipped through their fingers when the were beaten 35-10 by Bismarck Century. Now, they will need to beat Mandan and get some help to clinch their playoff berth.
The Patriots were never threatened in this one as they jumped out to a 21-0 lead heading into half time. In the second half, the Jays were driving to try to get back into the game when QB Ross Monson was intercepted by Cyril Nagurski who returned it 72-yards for a score.
Jamestown got their only points on a Ben Hanson field goal and Hanson also scored on an 8-yard catch from Monson. That lone touchdown followed an interception by Cameron Gilbertson who returned it to the 14-yard line.
Jamestown is at Mandan on Saturday, kick-off is at 1pm on ESPN Jamestown.
